Business Immigration to Canada

Canada needs experienced business people with sufficient capital to make their contribution to the Canadian economy. Federal Government and a number of Provincial Governments have designed business immigration programs. There are 3 business immigration categories under the Federal business immigration program:
  • Investor
  • Entrepreneur
  • Self-employed

Federal and Quebec Governments signed a Canada-Quebec accord which allows Quebec to operate its own immigrant investor program. Quebec also has two other business immigration categories: entrepreneur and self-employed.

Many other provinces have various business immigration programs as part of their Provincial Nominee Programs.

Business people may also be eligible to enter Canada as business visitors or on a work permit under NAFTA, CCFTA or GATS, depending on the situation.

Provincial Nominee Program

Persons who immigrate to Canada under the Provincial Nominee Program have the skills, education and work experience needed to make an immediate economic contribution to the province or territory that nominates them. They are ready to establish themselves successfully as permanent residents in Canada.

To apply under the Provincial Nominee Program, applicants must be nominated by a Canadian province or territory.

Consult this section to find all the information and required forms to apply as a provincial nominee. Because the criteria for provincial nomination are determined by the individual provinces and territories, they can change without notice.

Here is a list of the provinces and one territory currently participating in this program. Since the criteria vary among the provinces, contact us for more details.
